Yes, I am still here. It seems that auto-publishing my tweets here gave me the illusion that the site is alive and kicking when it is barely breathing. All I got are drafts, but no new posts. I am distracted; computers and the internet are notorious for distractions.

First up, site updates! Tweaked the CSS a little on those small nuisances that I always see but never got the chance to spare time and correct it. And it was only last month that I was able to check the site’s responsiveness (or adaptability) on different screens and I am very pleased.

As for new stuff, err, well they will be here when they are here. Wow, horrible right?! I’ll just sit on those drafts and I am sure post will be rolling.

As for my loyal readers (yes, you 3) and search robots that crawl the site, don’t give up on me yet. Hehe. Thanks:D

Status report, 2 months in. Readers, stats and tweaks here and there.

Well two months since the site’s resurrection, I can safely say that I have 6 frequent readers (lol), more than from the previous site which I really great news for such a low low profile site. Hehe:D Haven’t posted the link on directories yet but I think I will soon. Maybe. Well, it seems unnecessary when you are blogging for yourself, right?

And in terms of traffic, compared from the old site, which has 681 entries indexed by search engines, the current site receives more traffic with only 75 entries, including entry-converted tweets. I couldn’t believe it at first but the stats say it all. Apparently, I am becoming “relevant”.

Ranking, on search engines that is, locally and internationally (yep), I am on the top spot (or my Twitter account) when I am searched. A double-edged sword. Narcissism booster and anonymity nightmare at the same time. But everything I put out here I know for a fact that it will stay out for everyone to see. You can see it because I set it that way.

And so with this milestone, I tweaked the style sheet a little bit to have more distinction between the posts on all formats. Aside from the Projects page, which is currently in progress for real, the site is pretty solid. I’m still on the awe-state I suppose, took a very long time to relaunch this old thing. I just need to publish drafts that is already accumulating.

A plus tard!

Mindlessly channel surfing last night when I stopped on this quirky British show, talking about food rationed during the WWII in Britain, billed by these two hilarious “couple” reliving the era, complete with costumes, war know-hows, the same food prepared on war times and lots and lots of British humor.

Bloody hell! I stumbled on a television gem! The Supersizers Go… presented by journalist and restaurant critic Giles Coren and comedian Sue Perkins, (which I really thought was a married couple at first) and watch them as they go through each diet of a specific era prepared by a specialist chef for delicacy authenticity and see them squirm or light up with delight. And on the end, find out if they were bad or healthy for them after a week of immersion.

I couldn’t even bring myself to google them while watching it because it was just way too funny (and very informative) to miss a few seconds of it.

Mock sausages which were 3% meat, salty SPAM, crunchy loo paper, mock crab, mock duck (made from sausages), mock apricot pie (made from carrots and plum jam), mock coffee, cake made with paraffin (instead of lard) and that pink gelatin dessert were just some of the food they had to stomach while immersing themselves to the wartime era. Filled with bits of crazier antics like using beet juice for lipstick, painting gravy on the legs as stockings, really gnawing grass from outside straight from the ground, smuggling bananas from the canteen and swimming on bed as past time. It is just top-notch telly programming. See that? LOL

If that first episode is anything but an hour worth of peek on what is coming on the next few episodes, then I am all in.

News broke early that NBC cancelled the show and I was one of the fans who got disappointed by their decision. Even though the creators offered a glimmer of hope on continuing the series elsewhere, hearts were already broken (LOL) and for whatever it is, it’s nothing more than just a possibility.

And so the finale aired, thinking that it will the last wave of goodbye to the show’s fans but instead, it was more of a yank towards itself, grasping you tighter for what is coming.

So here, I bid adieu to The Event. It was one hell of a ride while it lasted.

World, meet Denouement. Aptly named in my opinion and I really like this one, it’s definitely a keeper. And yes, I know, it’s about damn time.

The old layout got uglier every time I looked at it and with the really long hiatus from blogging and other stuff, it was screaming for a reboot.

So I’ll break it down.

What I have

I have a blog where I write, post reviews, photos, videos and links.

I have a Twitter account which also automatically updates my Facebook status.

And I have a Flickr account for my photographic adventures.

What I needed

A site that will show all of my online activities on one site.

Conception was the easiest, what was the purpose of the site and what needs to be shown. But deciding how each element should look like was the hardest. This designer is working with the worst customer in the entire world, myself. And I am really hard to please. LOL

What this site is

This is my online lifestream.

I can definitely say that this site is a home run. Aside from the usual entries, my tweets are automatically published here on the blog. For the Flickr photos, I chose not to have each and every photo uploaded to have a page published here so I linked this to my Flickr account and publish any photo I want with a click and a few edits.

Officially, this is the 7th version of the site not counting all those layouts that I scraped for not “cutting it” sort of speak.

I think I’ll post the designing process later along. It was fun doing it.
