ONAT LOPERA

Alone (Faet/Fad). Straight from Thailand, from the team that made the Asian Horror blockbuster Shutter, (which I haven’t seen yet, but on my list for my next trip to the video shop Watched it. Here it is.) Banjong Pisanthanakun and Parkpoom Wongpoom, where a deceased Siamese twin returns and haunts her living sister. Overall, it was good. Great story. There may be quite a few cheap scares because of the sound but this has it’s few gems that I haven’t seen on other horror flicks. Scheduled for an Indian and American remake, I hope this won’t get butchered. Not sure about the Thai title so I put both that I found.

Knocked Up. Directed by Judd Apatow, the man behind the 40 Year Old Virgin, comes his hilarious movie about a drunk slob and a gorgeous career woman getting it on and procreating. LOL Nice movie with great performances from both of the leads, Seth Rogen and Katherine Heigl. Despite being a hilarious movie, this even has a lesson to teach: no glove, no love. LOL No, it’s taking responsability. And beware of pink eye.

1408. Based from a best seller of the master of literary horror Stephen King, about a man who does not belive in ghosts nor God on his quest to scour the most haunted places in America to witness the haunting himself. He admited he has not yet saw a ghost in his life but things will come to a sharp turn when he came to Hotel Dolphin at the infamous Room 1408. With suicides and weird deaths lingering on that room, it was said that nobody has ever survived on that room for less than an hour. Knowing all those, it’s a interesting movie already. I have few words for this flick; John Cusack was great, has a really good storyline (slow at some point), unique scoring and with one goosebumps-inducing end.
