Big Day Tomorrow: Graduation!

Earlier this morning was the last run-through of the rites to be held tomorrow. As usual, the “facilitators” were late. About 11:30 AM, they called it a day and dismissed everyone.

We were asked to return back to school at about 2PM to get our togas, invitations and ribbons. Trying them on here at home, the gown fits well (and seems new also) but my cap is a bit small for my big head. I’ll try switching with my other classmates’ big-caps-for-them tomorrow.

Note: The title of the graduation song march is “Pomp and Circumstance March No. 1″. :D

[...] AND after the rehearsal will be the distribution of our graduation gowns (togas) with sash, graduation pictures (I think in all picture sizes known to man, based from my other pic portfolio), invitations and ribbons that says “Graduate” that I’ve been looking forward for the longest time. Looking forward on that orchestraic graduation march which is Pomp and Circumstance March No. 1 I am still not familiar with its title and though I am already sick and tired of our graduation song, The Journey by Lea Salonga, (also my elementary, high school and associate degree graduation song) one last “performance” wouldn’t hurt. The baccalaureate mass will be an experience. It will be a first, being a “universal mass” as what they call it, different from what I was used to on a Catholic mass. There will be a lot of singing and reading from what I head. I know all the songs now, “know” and not “memorized” and I am curious how it will be. [...]

[...] When I left school, I said to them that I won’t tell it to them; my family. I would be a nice surprise on the big day. After I arrived from the very last practice, my mom asked for the invitation and I handed it to her. I was hoping that she would not notice my name on the invitation and she didn’t. Before the baccalaureate mass started, my mom and I were sitting then and I decided that it was the right time to tell. I asked for the invitation, I turned to the page and asked her to read that page. My mom saw my name and asked me why I didn’t told them about the award. I replied, “you didn’t read the invitation”. Hence, that medal on the pictures above. And the coolest part is that it has my name engraved on the back of it. I had been to 5 graduations already (nursery, elementary, high school, associate degree and bachelor degree) and this one holds the most number I went up the stage; first was for the diploma, second was for the thesis handover to our client and the last was for that medal. What an awesome way to end it all. [...]
