Almost There
Two weeks flew so fast that yesterday was the re-defense schedule of my thesis at school. From my last update, we received a “conditional pass with major revision” verdict from our panelists. It was good news but still not off the hook.
Without going through all the specific details before our presentation schedule (because a lot happened), we arrived at school and found out that the head thesis panelist from Baguio was not able to make it. Of course, we all assumed that that will be another one of the many thesis-defense-schedule-but-turns-into-a-mock-presentation days, but it wasn’t. Our college dean said that even though our lead panelist was not able to make it, all the revision from the revision list she prepared on the first thesis presentation will be the basis of the re-defense yesterday. And so we started from the first item on the revision list and slowly work our way up to the last.
I decided to left out on all the details that went on that presentation because if I did put it here, you will be needing a piss or coffee break right now to get prepped up for it. The most important thing is that it went well. A few minor revisions to be checked locally and if it is all good, we will be given a go signal to produce the mandatory CD to be passed to the central school (March 5) that contains all the files, an installer of the program, help files and even the presentation we used from the first thesis presentation schedule.
When the presentation was done, the panelists left the room for a meeting. Our network of computers were still connected to the internet from the computer laboratory downstairs so we had the chance to surf online, check email and open Friendster accounts like my two thesis mates did. And also, last thesis presentation, last time I’ll be wearing a tie at school = perfect photo op.
My thesis mates, Grace and Joyce. Just before the camera fired, I said that I might got cut off on the picture. And I was correct.
Almost there, almost at the end. (of school, that is)
