Last Days of 2006
My Olongapo City Fiesta 2006 and New Years Eve celebration (with photos). A little late but still worth telling.
Olongapo City Fiesta 2007(30th of December)
Almost the entire day was spent at my Grandmother’s house at West Bajac-Bajac. We ate and ate and ate some more and annihilated a school of fish by throwing those Chinese firecrackers on them. When the night came, it was mini reunion. We go way back to high school. We all just met at one place at about 7pm and started from there.

We went to Dencio’s for dinner. Their sisig is so good! And after a few egging, they made me broke my diet. But it’s alright, half a cup of it won’t kill me. It was the rice-thing. Then after dinner we went to the Boardwalk in Waterfront to walk-off our dinner. We met a couple of batch mates along the way, and even our high school teacher. There was even one of our classmate that didn’t recognized who I was. It was a contrast from what I look today from back on high school (quite short and rounded). We even went at her house a few days before Christmas and she didn’t even looked at me. I grew vertically. LOL It was nice meeting them all again.

We then went to Mocha Blends for some coffee. We even met up with more high school mates on the same cafe. After a few hours of that, and none of us guys wanted to go home so we got a couple of DVDs to watch at John’s. We watched Borat. That movie is so wrong and so funny at the same time. We broke off at about 2:30 and headed home.
New Years Eve
On the morning, I just watched yesterday’s parade on TV. After lunch, I ran some errands with my brother to the market and also buy some firecrackers and loud noisemakers. Because of the incident last year, selling of firecrackers was banned on the city. Police were always roaming around to confiscate whoever was selling some. We walked around for a few minutes. Not a single damn thing. Losing hope, we were about to head to another market to find some when we met with our uncle on the road. He knows people and they know people who sell firecrackers. After a few finger-pointing directions, we ended on a sandal/shoe shop and inside were the goodies. We made the transaction hidden. It felt so “illegal”. LOL I got the 500-round “sinturon ni Judas” (Judas’ belt, braided firecrackers meant to explode continuously). Loud and quite dangerous. My brother went back later that night to get a 1000-round. 1500 rounds of fun.
We arrived home I started making my infamous “crema de fruta”. Night came and we all helped cooking our feast. Near midnight, firecrackers started to blow off.

We always light firecrackers on New Year and we are the only ones that do that on our whole street. We always have fountains and hand-held firecrackers to light the street. We even have a couple of those Chinese-like fireworks that explodes on the sky. Really cool. We lighted all of our firecrackers on the street one after the other. It was also nice watching other people’s fireworks above, some are the same as ours. It was fun, especially when one of our fireworks meant for the sky exploded on the ground. We all ran for our lives that night but we all got a laugh at it. I got a lot of pictures and movie clips as much as I can that night.
And maybe because of the ban or the current state of the economy (naks!), the explosions faded off quite early than last year. At about 1AM, there were only a few crackers blowing off. Years before, it does not stop until 3AM. Things change.

When the explosion fade, then came the scrumptious feast. My mom’s spaghetti is the best so started on that and slowly made way to the entire table. Except for my mom and my sister, we all had a few beers. And a few hours after that, tired of chewing and chugging light beer, we wrapped it up. It was a great New Year.
And up until now, we still have some of the leftovers from that night. Hehe:D

[...] And yesterday, February 8 marked the second year of the day I started my effective diet. I broke my diet once last year, the night my high school mates and I went out. And so I gained a few pounds from the holidays but I can get rid of it the same way I got last years off my body. I’ll try riding our mountain bike again every morning to help with the loss. Diets works best with some cardio. [...]
