The Prestige
From the man that brought us Memento and Batman Begins (Christopher Nolan) comes a period movie that is not just about magic tricks nor attractive female assistants. The Prestige, starring Christian Bale (also Batman), Hugh Jackman, Scarlett Johansson and Michael Caine is a really good movie about dedication, obsession, revenge and interesting tricks that makes you say “how’d they do that?”.
All the actors were great, visuals were stunning, perfectly crafted and engaging plot. And Mr. Caine’s narration carefully sews the whole movie into something worth the prestige. The turn-of-the-century aspect of the movie is what I really love. Excellent ending, and the “Stephen King-ish” flavor on the reveal worked well with the movie. I recommend this movie especially to those who are looking for something new from the movies that came out on this year. Don’t blink or you’ll miss the trick.
