Back from Vertigo-ville
Bonjour a tous! An update after 2 weeks and n days. So where the bloody hell was I?
It was an ear infection (?) and the same old case that resulted to pulsating quick shocks of pain on the back of my head for about a week followed by a few more days of vertigo. Hell. But the important this is that like what they say about newspapers, “back in the circulation”.
I missed 2 weeks of school, last 2 weeks before the finals. I was worrying then about that when I had my short moments of sanity during my visit to “Vertigo-ville”. Not so much about the exams but more on our final Thesis 1 defense. (We have Thesis 1 and Thesis 2, same project in two consecutive semesters.) I’m really grateful for my thesis mates; I really owe them a lot. The final defense was last Tuesday, of course, I was there. I remember perfectly what our thesis coordinator said early on the school year, “absence is a basis for failure”. I need to be there. Walked very slowly holding on to anything stable and strong enough to carry my weight if I ever I fell. The stairs were the most challenging part, up to the top floor (4th). They were very understanding and accommodating as well that day. My thank you’s to them might sound like murmurs but I really meant those, from the heart. The defense went well (11AM to 3PM-ish). Only revisions on our documentation, and they said I could go home.
I went through 2 doctors and on pills of kinds. Expensive pills, but had/have to buy and take them.
Now, compared to last few weeks, I feel like a million (bucks) peso
. I still feel some dizziness when I walk but functional again. Human again. Headaches and vertigo can be so incapacitating, especially if they on 24-7.
I missed a lot of things.
Google bought YouTube, they merged their Google Spreadsheets and Writely documents into Google Docs (put its link also on Gmail) and Internet Explorer 7 was released. I’m still digging classical chorus music (not sure if that is the correct genre) and listening more of OPMs lately. Lost track of upcoming movies. I think our local cinema had been showing local crappy twee-tum movies and not so good internationals so nothing is lost.
Only one more activity on Monday of school work and it is semester break for me.
What’s on my itinerary this break? Make a site (I need a sideline) for my brother (with blood relative discount of course =)) ), new layout for this old thing, resume old plans for the site, continue my audio French lessons, meet-up with friends, borrow/buy movies and music from everywhere, take advantage of that unlimited texting feature which I rarely use, get a new haircut, organize and backup files on the computer, get updated, read more, learn something new and take my vertigo pills.
