When the Water Receded
Personal
Hello strangers, it had been a while. I had a lot of things to do these past few days. There’s school on one side and the weather on the other, the latter I hate the most. With the monsoon comes rain and with heavy rains comes flood. Our first “taste” for this year was this [...]

Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest
Movies
Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl. I wasn’t exactly disappointed on the movie but with all the hype and the state the first movie reached, I think this one failed. This latest flick from Disney is way to “Disney” for my taste. Too saccharine, like made especially for kids, too stupid [...]

Skewed and Electric-Taped Glasses
Personal
My years old, full of scratches, non-light reflecting glasses finally gave up on me. One of its “arms” broke off from the frame. The metal that allows it to bend outwards was the culprit.
I tried superglueing it but it just won’t stay straight. It kept breaking off everytime I wore it. My mom suggested [...]

IMDB Just Got Better
Internet, Movies and Squirt
My favorite internet movie database, IMDB, just got better! It now shows a small bit of the photo gallery and photos of the artists on the cast overview list. Nice. [edit] I came back this morning and they’re gone. Probably on testing stage.

Après Les Examens
Personal
Prelims are over!
That was the first major exam that I took after 2 years. A bit rusty, but I’m sure I’ll pass. Some of the changes from an old school: they’re not cashing in on test booklets anymore. I think it had about 6-8 pages then, and I always end up using just the first [...]

The Idiot-proof Guide on eGroups and Flooded Inboxes
Internet
Due to recent events and after a nasty acid reflux episode, I decided to write this little piece to introduce to the not-much-of-a-reader, not-so-tech-y folks the amazing power of the “Options” button. This guide, as what the title says, is idiot-proof. Clearly, I am not saying that you are an idiot, (well not yet [...]

Yahoo and Microsoft IM Interoperability is Here
Internet and Squirt
I posted it here 9 months ago, and now it is finally here! Yahoo and Microsoft interoperability of their instant messaging systems. I thought about trying it but I’m a YM advocate and I only have 2 MSN buddies, not that worth all the download waiting time and more bloatware. Someday, maybe.

Gmail’s New Set of Features
Internet
I just got these new features:
Being able to apply filters to all searched/previous messages and conversations. I don’t have to “search”, “check all” and then “apply filter” to all of them and,
the delete all spam link. One click to delete them all.
Keep them coming!

GDrive is Coming!
Internet, Squirt and Tuesday
For the Google fanboys, GDrive (Platypus) (Google’s online storage service, probably free also) is coming! Let’s all pretend GMail’s space is not big enough, or maybe this two will be storing files on the same block?

Earthquake
Personal and Squirt
We just had an earthquake here in Olongapo City. About 12 noon. Moderately strong, definitely brushed my post-lunch siesta slumber away. You felt that? [edit] Aftershock at 5ish same day. I was on school at the 3rd floor.
