Mission: Impossible 3

Mission: Impossible 3I expected a lot from this movie; with all the cool scenes I saw from previews and sneak peaks I wanted this movie to be great. So as Kanye West’s track played while the end credits rolled, I was a bit disappointed. With two successful movies of the franchise, it is next to inevitable to set the bar really high. I’m just not sure if they were able to reach it.

Still, Mission: Impossible 3 is a great movie; packed with fast-phased blood-pumping action scenes, huge explosions, mandatory uber high technology and that latex mask. Also, I don’t know if “cute” is a proper word to describe such film but I did saw some new stuff from this third installment. Directed by J. J. Abrams, the movie felt like watching a 2.5 hour good Alias episode (he created Alias and directed some of its episodes). Plot is almost the same from the previous movies and the level of predictability is quite high (which is a bad thing). On new faces, what would you expect from the Oscar winner Philip Seymour Hoffman, of course, he was brilliant in a scary way. Very calm but pure evil.

Personally, the best part on this movie was the opening scene, yes that’s the part where it shows the title, the casts and the people that made the movie. The Mission: Impossible theme was playing and it had that “in your face” type of feeling that sent goosebumps all over. I haven’t heard that theme in a while and being able to hear it again on full surround glory is just pure audiogasm. ;) Take a look how much effort it took them to make my favorite scene on the movie. Overall, the movie was worth my P95.
