Site Umph-dates! – Part Une
Edited: 27th of October, 2005
From layout alterations and image replacements because of the site title change done long ago, link titles, few plugins, some code cleanup, and tweaks here and there that maybe only a keen eye would be able to see.
Ok, for the visually-impaired, like me, here are some of the changes I made with this bunch of site update:

I made the change of the site title on the previous “makeover” and I forgot to change the header image to go with the entire site. And with that, I changed all the old link titles (the text that appears when you hover a link on the menu). Also, now with “prettier” comments, try posting one and you’ll see. Spiffy.
With the plugins, I went for what most of the other sites are running. The plugins were chosen mostly for their visual appeal contribution with a pinch of functionality. Some of them are:
- Acronym Replacer
- Live Comment Preview
- Gravatars ?
even though I still don?t have one, new sign-up is still downI just uploaded my Gravatar, needs to be rated first before it appears though. Get yourself one at Gravatar.com - Related Entries
- Subscribe to Comments
- Bunny’s Technorati Tags ? I still don?t know why I installed this
(note to self: TAG!) - and the Enhanced Post List – one of the best plugins around
And about the code clean-up. I think I just turned into those geeky geeks that checks whether the HTML of the site is valid or not. The last time I checked, this is valid. *ahem ahem*
Oh heck, I’ll put the Valid XHTML 1.0 button anyway, looks great with the site.
I’m not sure with my CSS, lots of warnings, maybe I’ll be the “anal” geek that will make everything “valid” someday. It turns out that my CSS is also valid, despite of its numerous warnings. I just had to remove one line of the code. And I am an “anal” geek. Now that is a complement!
Done.
This will be a “trilogy” “umph-date” so watch out for them this week. FYI: Une = one (c’est fran?ais)

[...] With “Part Une” and “Part Deux” done long ago, this concludes the “way-too-late” series of updates I had aligned for the site. More to come. [...]
